A graduate of the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Stellenbosch University (SU) recently came third in the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) 2023 National IP Showdown. SAICA joined forces with leading universities nationwide to recognise excellence amongst civil engineering students for their research efforts.
Etienne-Pierre Skein, who graduated in 2022, presented his final year research project on the “Development of a High Modulus Concrete for 3D-Printing Applications”.
About this achievement, he says:
“I am very grateful to have represented Stellenbosch University and won third place at the 2023 SAICE IP Showdown! Thank you to SAICE and all the sponsors for giving us the opportunity to share our research and innovation and help push the boundaries of the Civil Engineering industry!
